“Do you think we’re high enough?” asked Dunmash, wiping a bead of perspiration from his mud-stained face. He peered towards the edge where the grass fell away into the cool mist above the trees’ canopy, tentatively half-expecting to see their pursuers clawing their way into view. Tallback looked up into the clouds then towards his companion’s gaze and briefly nodded.

“Yes”, he whispered as in deep thought “we’re high enough.” His sword flashed like bright silver in the sun as he raised it towards the dwelling. “It’s safe enough in there. Come now all, let’s eat!”
